The man walked up the slope. He used poles. The sun was bright. The sky was blue. He looked forward to the view from the top.

Sir Edmund Hillary climbed up the steep and slippery slope of the humongous Mountain. He used long thick poles to help him walk through the snow. The sun was as bright as beautiful sunflower sprouting in the summer. The sky was dark and misty with lots of long white clouds. He was looking forward to the marvelous view at the very top of the Mountain.

Cook Island Celebration with Rm 6

Making Tivaevae with Room 6

On Monday 5 August me and my class went to Room 6 (My Buddy Class) and made Tivaevae. In the Cook Islands Tivaevae are made with material to make a quilt.

Kathleen Anne Baird Hall

Kathleen Hall born in Napier, Hawke's bay, New Zealand 4 October 1896 died 1970 training as a nurse in New Zealand Public Hospital, she also served in China as a Anglican missionary. Kathleen got accepted by the Anglican Society for the Propagation for Gospel missionary to work in China in 1922. Kathleen arrived in Beijing (They used to call Beijing, Beiping) in 1923, she worked for several years at the Peking Union Medical College. The hospital that she worked in was a well-funded hospital.

This is the Hospital Kathleen Hall worked at in Beijing/Beiping.

Auckland Civic Theatre Visit

On Thursday 1 August Kauri team were invited to the Auckland Civic Theatre in town to watch 14 short films. We went because we are going to make our own short films with our selves in them.

These are my two favorite films, and I will explain why I liked them the most.

1.  I liked this Tadpole short film because one Tadpole wasn't growing his arms and legs as fast as the other Tadpoles. I think this Tadpole had a dream as he was sleeping and dreamed of having arms and legs and it came true.

2. I liked this short film because everyone in the apartment were making to much noise and then they all smelt a wonderful smell and all went to the top of the apartment and saw one of the people cooking kebabs on the barbecue. Then the small Rabbit ran after a butterfly and almost fell off but the guy who was cooking on the barbecue saved him but he was falling off the side and they all keep falling until the apartment fell over and that was the end.
